Opening Salvo

I recently started a new career, and some of the lessons I've learned along the way have prompted me to start this blog.

I am not a young person; I have nearly 20 years of experience under my belt. I thought that leaving the non-profit world behind would be a good thing for me - more opportunities for advancement, a better salary, more comprehensive benefits - you name it, I had high expectations.

And for the most part my expectations have been dashed.

I am increasingly disillusioned by what I consider to be bad business practices in the private for-profit realm, and I want to share my experience with others to see if my expectations were unrealistic. I invite your comments, and if you have stories of bad business practices that you would like to share with me, please email them to me and I will share them here anonymously (or not, depending on your preference) for others to see.
